Dying Casuarina Tree

This is a Casuarina tree, commonly known as Australian Pine. It has non-native status and is invasive. The Corps of Engineers has been working to eradicate this determined tree from the Okeechobee area. It does not heal well, when abused, so either girdling or damaging it severely in some way kills it over time. This one is dying. Further photographs show miles of dead trees.
