Oh this was bad! I was assured all would be well at the Indiantown Marina. After the lousy time at Daytona Municipal, I was ready to be handled gently. No such luck. I got here and when I turned into the channel after calling ahead just minutes before turning into the Indiantown Marina Basin and being told someone would be out on the dock, there was no one there. Another call on VHF - NO ANSWER! Sigh... The lady running the place had a 'customer' in the store, so she "didn't have time to answer the VHF or come out to grab a dock line". Well, blow me down! But I lucked out and the folks that had taken the space I was supposed to have came over and grabbed a line. They pulled Doublewide over to the cement dock in front of the haul out - the only free space in left in the marina. It was a quiet day, however and all problems were averted, by a helping hand from a fellow boater! Incidentally, they couldn't raise anyone on VHF either, so they just tied up where they saw an opening. After leaving Indiantown Marina, you come to the Mayaca Railroad Bridge, this is the lowest bridge (49') on the ICW and the one everyone is always on about. Here are the pictures of the Mayaca Railroad Bridge |
